An office move is a live operational project, not just a bigger house move. The safest plan protects people, information, equipment and the first working day in the new space.
Give the move a named owner on the client side and a named contact on the moving side. Decisions about access, floor plans, staff communications and the move sequence should not be scattered across five inboxes.
Record loading access, lifts, staircases, security arrangements, parking, floor protection and the route between the vehicle and the building. A floor plan and a simple inventory will make the quotation and the move plan more useful.
Label desks, screens, servers, archive boxes and specialist equipment before anything is packed. Your internal IT team may need to disconnect and reconnect systems, while the removal team manages protection, transport and placement around that work.
Reusable office crates can reduce loose boxes, speed up desk moves and make a floor-by-floor sequence easier to follow. Number each crate or box and give staff a simple labelling rule so the right items arrive at the right workstation.
A weekend move can work well for a small office, but larger workplaces often need a phased plan. Move teams, equipment and records in an order that keeps critical functions running, then keep a short list of items needed first thing on Monday.
Commercial work should be priced after the scope is understood. Provide the floor plan, inventory, dates, access details and any lifting, storage, crate hire or disposal requirements. A domestic calculator is not a substitute for a commercial project conversation.
