Destination services cover everything after the belongings arrive: home search, school search, area orientation, utility and council registration, and the practical business of settling into an unfamiliar country. They are normally arranged by employers relocating staff, or by families moving internationally without a local network. Daley & Co provide them in the North West and, through our partner network, at international destinations.
Overview
Arriving in a new country with your household goods is just the beginning. Settling in — finding the right home, enrolling children in school, understanding local services, and building a new routine — is where the real work starts. Daley & Co's Destination Services team provides practical, personalised support to help you and your family feel at home as quickly as possible, whether you are relocating to the UK or moving abroad.

What's Included
Finding the right home in an unfamiliar area is one of the most stressful aspects of any relocation. Our destination services team provides comprehensive home search support, researching properties that match your criteria for location, size, budget, and lifestyle. We coordinate viewings, accompany you to appointments, and provide local context that estate agents may not share — information about neighbourhood character, school catchments, commute times, flooding risk, and planned developments. For clients relocating to the UK from overseas, we can conduct initial viewings on your behalf, providing video walkthroughs and detailed reports so you can shortlist properties before arriving. We work with both rental and purchase markets and can coordinate with solicitors and letting agents on your behalf.
For families with children, finding the right school is often the single most important factor in choosing where to live. Our destination consultants provide detailed school search services covering state schools, independent schools, international schools, and specialist provision. We research schools matching your criteria for academic approach, curriculum (British, IB, Montessori), extracurricular activities, and pastoral care. We provide information on admissions processes, application deadlines, and waiting list strategies. For families relocating to the UK, we explain the British education system — including the differences between state and independent sectors, the role of Ofsted, and the admissions timeline. We can arrange school visits and accompany you to open days.

Our area orientation service introduces you to your new neighbourhood through a guided tour covering transport links, local amenities, healthcare facilities, shopping, dining, leisure, and community resources. For international relocations, we also provide cultural briefings covering local customs, social norms, and practical information about daily life in the UK — from how the NHS works to how to register with a GP, from understanding council tax to navigating the school run. These briefings are tailored to your family’s specific situation and can be delivered before or after your arrival. For families relocating from the UK to another country, we provide equivalent briefings through our international partner network.
The first few weeks in a new home are critical for establishing routines and feeling settled. Our settling-in support covers the practical tasks that can be overwhelming when you are also unpacking and adjusting to a new environment: utility connections (gas, electricity, water, broadband), council tax registration, GP and dentist registration, bank account opening, driving licence exchange, and local service recommendations (cleaners, gardeners, tradespeople). We provide a dedicated point of contact who is available by phone and email during your settling-in period to answer questions and provide guidance. Standard packages cover four to eight weeks; extended support is available for families who need longer-term assistance.
