The Challenge

What needed to be done

St Joseph's Primary School needed to relocate from its Victorian building to a new-build facility 400 metres away during the six-week summer holiday. The move included 18 classrooms of furniture and resources, a school library of 4,000 books, specialist IT equipment including 36 interactive whiteboards, a school kitchen, and the headteacher's office archives. The new building had a strict handover date of Week 4, meaning the move had to be phased.

Our Approach

How we delivered it

Daley & Co produced a room-by-room relocation schedule aligned with the building handover. Weeks 1–3 were used for packing, labelling, and staging items in the old building. From Week 4, delivery to the new building was phased by floor and room type — IT equipment first, then furniture, then resources. Each classroom was labelled with a matching code system so items could be placed directly into the correct room without sorting on arrival. The library was catalogued and packed by subject section.

The Outcome

The result

The new school was fully operational on the first day of the autumn term. All 18 classrooms were set up with furniture, resources, and working IT. The library was shelved by subject. The kitchen was operational from day one. The labelling and placement system meant classrooms were usable from the first morning of term.
