Property chains do not always move to the same timetable. If your completion date slips, storage can give you options, but the collection, container size, access and redelivery plan need to be clear.
As soon as the date looks uncertain, call the moving team. They may be able to adjust the collection, reserve storage, or explain which charges change. Last-minute changes are harder when the original date is a Friday or the end of the month.
Your belongings are packed and loaded into container modules, then stored until the delivery date is confirmed. Daley & Co uses 250 cubic-foot modules, booked in multiples of 250 cubic feet, so an inventory helps estimate how many are likely to be needed.
List furniture, cartons, garden items, appliances and anything needing special handling. Keep medicines, passports, valuables and everyday essentials separate. If you need access while items are stored, say so before the collection rather than after the container is sealed.
Containerised storage can be convenient when the removal company is collecting and redelivering everything. Self-storage may suit you better if you need frequent access or want to manage the unit yourself. Compare access, transport, insurance and the total cost, not just the monthly headline price.
When the new completion date is known, confirm the address, access, parking, floor level, lift booking and any changes to the inventory. Storage charges, transport, extra handling and protection should be shown clearly in the revised quotation.
Make a moving-day bag with documents, chargers, medication, children's items, work equipment and a few days of clothing. Storage works best when the things you need immediately are not buried in the container.
