How much does a house move cost with Daley & Co?

A local house move in the North West typically costs from around £430 for a one-bedroom flat, £620 for a two-bedroom house and £900 to £1,300 for a three-bedroom house, including transit protection. Longer distances add to that, and packing is priced separately. Daley & Co have moved families since 1948, and every price is fixed in writing after a free survey rather than estimated on arrival.

What Does a Domestic Removal Include?

A domestic removal with Daley & Co is a fully managed service that covers every stage of your house move. From the moment our move coordinator arrives at your home for the initial survey, we take responsibility for planning, packing, transporting, and delivering your belongings to your new address. Our service includes a detailed pre-move survey to assess volume and access, supply of all packing materials (double-walled cartons, tissue paper, bubble wrap, wardrobe boxes, and specialist crates), professional packing by trained staff, careful loading onto our modern fleet of vehicles, transportation with full goods-in-transit insurance, delivery to every room as directed, reassembly of all furniture that was dismantled, and removal of all packing waste. We also offer a part-packing option if you prefer to pack some items yourself — our team will handle the fragile, heavy, or awkward items while you take care of the rest.

Moving a House in Greater Manchester and the North West

Daley & Co is based in the heart of the North West, with depots serving Manchester, Bolton, Wigan, Warrington, and the surrounding areas. We know the region intimately — from the narrow terraced streets of Salford and Oldham to the larger detached properties in Alderley Edge and Knutsford. This local knowledge means we can plan access, parking, and logistics with precision, avoiding the delays and complications that less experienced companies encounter. Whether you are moving within the same postcode or relocating from Manchester to another part of the UK, our crews handle the journey with the same level of care and professionalism. We also serve Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside, and Yorkshire, with regular long-distance routes to London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, and all major UK cities.

Specialist Items: Pianos, Safes, and Awkward Furniture

Not every item can be moved by two people and a blanket. Pianos, safes, pool tables, grandfather clocks, and oversized furniture require specialist equipment and techniques. Our crews are trained and equipped to handle these items safely — using piano skids, stair walkers, heavy-duty trolleys, and crane hire where necessary. We move upright pianos, baby grands, and full concert grands regularly, and our specialist team understands the weight distribution, sensitivity, and care required. Safes up to 500kg can be moved using our hydraulic stair-climbing equipment. If you have any item that you consider difficult or unusual, mention it during your survey and we will plan accordingly.

Insurance and Protection for Your Belongings

Every domestic removal with Daley & Co includes comprehensive goods-in-transit insurance as standard. This covers your belongings against accidental damage during loading, transit, and unloading. We also carry full public liability insurance covering any accidental damage to property (your home, the new property, or common areas). In the unlikely event that something is damaged, our claims process is handled directly by our team — there is no need to deal with third-party insurers or lengthy paperwork. For high-value items such as antiques, fine art, or jewellery, we recommend declaring these separately so that cover reflects their true replacement value. Our move coordinator will discuss insurance options during your survey.

Flexible Scheduling: Weekends, Bank Holidays, and Short Notice

We understand that moving dates are often dictated by exchange and completion timescales, landlord requirements, or personal circumstances. That is why we offer flexible scheduling including Saturday moves, bank holiday availability, and short-notice bookings where capacity allows. Our most popular moving days are Fridays and Mondays, but we operate six days a week and can accommodate midweek moves at competitive rates. If your completion date changes at short notice, we will do everything we can to adjust your booking — we know how stressful last-minute changes can be, and we pride ourselves on being flexible and responsive.

After the Move: Unpacking, Disposal, and Storage

Our service does not end when the last box is carried through the door. We offer a full unpacking service where our team unpacks every box, places items as directed, and removes all packing materials and waste from your new home. If you do not need a full unpack, we will still remove all empty boxes, paper, and bubble wrap on moving day. For items that do not fit your new home, or if you are downsizing, we can arrange collection and disposal or transfer to our secure storage facility. Our containerised storage is available from a single week to several years, with no long-term contracts and transparent monthly pricing.

Full Packing Service (Add-On)
