Who moves pianos, fine art and antiques?

Daley & Co move pianos, fine art, antiques, clocks and sculpture with crews trained specifically for them, using made-to-measure crates where an item warrants it. Condition is recorded before anything is handled, and high-value items are declared and insured to their actual value rather than a standard per-item limit. We are a British Association of Removers member.

Overview

Our White Glove Service is designed for clients who require the very highest standard of handling — whether that is a collection of fine art, a suite of designer furniture, a grand piano, or a consignment of luxury goods. Every aspect of the service is delivered by our most experienced specialists, using premium materials and bespoke protective packaging.

White glove service — specialist handling of luxury items

What Makes the White Glove Service Different?

The White Glove Service is not simply a more careful version of a standard removal. It is a fundamentally different service delivered by a separate specialist team with specific training in fine art handling, antique furniture care, and luxury goods logistics. Our white glove operatives wear cotton gloves for all item handling, use only conservation-grade packing materials, and follow documented handling procedures for every item type. The service includes full photographic condition reporting before and after transit, bespoke timber crating built in our workshop to the exact dimensions of each item, and climate-controlled transport where temperature or humidity sensitivity requires it. Every white glove move is managed by a senior specialist who oversees the entire process from consultation to final placement.

Who Uses the White Glove Service?

Our White Glove Service is used by private collectors relocating art collections, interior designers furnishing high-end properties, auction houses transporting lots between salerooms, commercial galleries mounting exhibitions, corporate clients installing statement pieces in offices and lobbies, and private individuals moving irreplaceable family heirlooms. The common thread is that the items being moved are of exceptional value — whether monetary, historical, or sentimental — and require a level of care that goes beyond what any standard removal service can provide. We have handled Steinway concert grand pianos, Old Master paintings, Georgian furniture suites, contemporary sculptures, wine collections, and bespoke designer pieces.

White Glove Service - Daley & Co

Bespoke Crating and Archival Packing

Every item handled under the White Glove Service receives bespoke packaging designed specifically for its dimensions, weight, and fragility. Our in-house crate workshop builds custom timber crates with internal supports, vibration-dampening foam, and conservation-grade lining materials. For paintings, we use acid-free tissue, Tyvek wrapping, and corner protectors before crating. For sculpture, we create contoured foam cradles that support the piece at every point. For furniture, we use quilted transit blankets, corrugated cardboard armour, and bespoke covers that protect surfaces without trapping moisture. Nothing is off-the-shelf — every solution is designed for the specific item it protects.

Climate-Controlled Transport and Storage

Certain items are sensitive to temperature and humidity fluctuations — oil paintings can crack, wooden antiques can warp, and wine can be ruined by heat. For these items, we provide climate-controlled vehicles that maintain a stable temperature and humidity level throughout transit. Our climate-controlled storage facility maintains conditions suitable for fine art and antiques (typically 18–21°C, 45–55% relative humidity) for items requiring longer-term storage between properties or during renovation work. All climate-controlled services are monitored continuously, with alerts triggered if conditions deviate from the specified range.

Insurance and Valuation for High-Value Items

Standard goods-in-transit insurance may not adequately cover high-value items. For White Glove moves, we offer specialist fine art and high-value goods transit insurance at declared replacement value. We work with specialist insurers who understand the art and antiques market and can provide cover appropriate to the items being moved. We recommend that all clients obtain independent valuations for significant items before the move, and we can refer you to accredited valuers if required. Our condition reporting process also provides documentary evidence of the item’s state before and after transit, which is invaluable in the unlikely event of a claim.
